Committees

Standing Committees:

Executive – Chaired by the Chair of The Board (Cletus Scalo).  Staff liaison is Susan Balla.  Meets monthly prior to Board Meetings. Comprised of the officers of the Board of Directors.

(Meets 2nd Wednesday at 5pm in Wexford)

Finance – Committee chaired by the Treasurer of the Board (Hal Martin).  Staff liaison is Matt DiLallo. Responsible for developing the annual budget with staff, monitoring the monthly income and expenses, make recommendations for capital expenditures, assures all tax filings are completed.

(Meets as needed – At least Quarterly)                                  

Nominating – Committee chaired by Becky Morella.  Staff liaison is Susan Balla.   Responsible for seeking qualified candidates for positions on the Board of Directors.

Ad Hoc Committees:

Legislative –    Committee Chaired by Hal Martin.  Staff liaisons are Susan Balla and Matt DiLallo. Responsible for routine interaction with our local, state and national government agencies, legislators and municipalities. Chamber education and a leadership in this area is a high priority.

(Meets 3rd Thursday, 3:00pm in Cranberry)

Economic Development – Committee Chaired by Hal Martin.  Staff liaisons are Susan Balla and Matt DiLallo.  Responsible for programs, policies and activities that seek to improve the well being and the quality of life for our business owners and community and promote growth.

(Meets 3rd Thursday, 3:00pm with the Legislative Committee)

Events – Committee chair is Andrew Chiapusio.  Staff liaison is Shawn Bliss.  Committee is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating all events in cooperation with the Events Coordinator.  Serves as a support system to the staff in planning events and marketing/ PR of the events. Assists in planning event calendar for the year.

Marketing / PR – Committee chaired by Jim Boltz.  Staff liaisons are Shawn Bliss and Matt DiLallo.  Committee is responsible to further brand and significantly boost THE CHAMBER’S visibility within the community through a variety of marketing and branding techniques. They will work closely with the staff in regard to website  and collateral development.  Also responsible for Media releases  and  TV, radio, print advertisement.

(Meets 2nd Tuesday, 9:15 in Wexford)                                      

Task Forces:     

Personnel – Committee Chaired by John Laslavic. Committee is comprised of members of the Executive Committee.  Responsible for hiring, firing, and the reviews of the Executive Director.

Community Outreach – Committee chair is Steve Carpenter.  Staff liaison is Shawn Bliss.   Responsible for focus on outreach endeavors such as scholarships, school and food drives, mentoring, Chamber Days of Caring, gicingtrees, etc.  Committee will be responsible annually to determine worthy outreach endeavors. 

(Meets 1st Friday, 8:30am in Wexford)                                    

Ambassador - Committee chaired by Kent Clifton.  Staff liaisons are Debbie Crum and Carol Macioce.   Responsible for an enhanced focus on our membership and local non-member businesses. Goals is to increase new memberships and retain existing memberships. Committee works closely with Business Development Manager.

(Meets 1st Wednesday, 4:00pm and alternates between Cranberry and Wexford)                              

Program - Committee chaired by Kiersten McCort.  Assists staff in development, planning and execution of programs for THE CHAMBER.  Currently working on Women in Business University, Veterans and Internship programs.  Staff liaisons are Susan Balla and Carol Macioce for Women in Business University, Susan Balla and Shawn Bliss for Veterans and Matt DiLallo for Internships.
